Admission Policy

1. Age

Grade R
A leaner may only be admitted to Grade R in the year in which he/she turns 6 years.
Grade 1
A leaner may only be admitted to Grade 1 in the year in which he/ she turns 7 years.
Other Grades
A child will only be admitted to a grade if he/she age is the grade to which he/she seeks.
Learners deemed too old for a grade
A leaner should not turn 15 in Primary School. This factor will at all times be consideration of placement.
Non-South African Citizens
Such persons must be able to provide one of the following:
• Permit of temporary residence
• Study permit
• Evidence that application has been made for a residence permit.

2. Special Needs

The school will attempt to accommodate all learners irrespective of their needs. However, should the Principal decide that the school does not have the facilities to cope with these needs, he/she will after full assessment and consultation, refer the matter to the District manager.

3. Register of Admission

a. A grade will be deemed to be full when there are number of learners admitted to that particular Grade, thereafter parents who wish to enroll their children into a grade that is deemed to be full, we will place the learner on a waiting list in a strictly first come first served basis.
b. Register will be kept for all the admissions.
c. New learners name will be recorded with all particulars at the of admission
d. There will be application fee non-refundable for all the new learners
e. There will be a re-registration fee for all the existing learners each year at a reasonable cost determined by the school governing body and the finance committee.

4. Requirements for admission

Parents must provide the following
a. An original Birth certificates
b. A transfer card from the previous school (if this is applicable), if no transfer card available, then placement would be based on
• A recent progress reports
• Suitable school documents
• A sworn affidavit
c. Proof of residence
d. Immunization Card
e. Certified copies of parents Identity, Parents would be reminded that it is a criminal offence to make any false declaration.

5. General

All applications will be handled fairly and equally
Where there is a need, test will be administered for admission to determine placement within the school.

6. Learner Admission Management

a. Applications for admissions to MaNanto Christian Academy will be accepted from 1 December 2023 or next working day.
b. Parents may visit our website or office for application link and forms from our Administrators.
c. Fully completed application link and forms must be returned to the admission Administrator for processing.
d. Parents, according to a strictly first come first serve basis, will be called to attend an interview as of the 08 January 2024.
e. Once the classes from Grade R-3 are deemed full ie. Minimum ratio number per pupils per class, all other applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
f. All applications will be considered.
